Skid lid mean

Skid lid is a slang term for a brain bucket or motorcycle helmet.
The shorty low profile is a style of a motorcycle half-helmet, like the 3/4 open-face helmets and full-face helmets are a type, style or design.
The Old School skid lid is s a shorty style motorcycle half-helmet made by Zox.

The shorty helmet is a notch or two above a novelty helmet. Novelty helmets are not DOT approved. The shorty was developed for the rider who wanted a DOT approved helmet yet wanted something as small as a novelty helmet. Shorty helmets meet or exceed DOT standards.

The best protection other than a full face helmet is a 3/4 helmet because it gives you full coverage.

Shorty helmets are popular among cruisers because of their low profile style. The shorties we offer vary in strap, buckle, visor and shell construction and come in a very wide variety of colors, finishes and graphic designs. Most shorty helmet shells are made of a polycarbonate material to keep the cost down. Some helmet shells are made of fiberglass, stronger and a little lighter weight. The shorty helmet is now available in carbon fiber which is the lightest weight and strongest construction and of course the highest priced by two or three times the cost of the other helmet shells. You get what you pay for.
